:omg: It's finally happening. We're reviving DoodleDare ! (I know I know... It's been months. Hush!) J1Star and I will be hosting a grand opening event TODAY, April 8th at 2pm EST. Prizes will be available for the winners of each round

The event will take place in the DoodleDare chatroom on dAmn. Hope to see you there!

Star! Once the event has started and we have enough contestants, the 'judge' or judges will decide on a theme. This could be something abstract such as 'fear' or even a simple object such as 'glass'. You are free to interpret this how you want- but don't be too abstract with your ideas!

Star! Once the timer has started you have exactly thirty (30) minutes to come up with a sketch in your chosen materials. We understand this is not necessarily enough time to make a 'complete' piece, but try and make sure your image is consistent all over and there aren't any blaring gaps.

Star! When the timer reaches zero you will have around five minutes to post your thumbs.

Star! The judge will take up to five minutes to pick the 'best' piece. See below for a rough guide to the judging process. Please note the judging time may vary depending on who is judging!

Star! Contestants are given a few minutes to get ready for the next round. Constructive criticism on the entries is encouraged at this point- but please be nice!

Star! Consistency: Entry has no obvious incomplete gaps compared to other areas of the piece.

Star! Quality: We will try our hardest not to judge on the scan quality of traditional pieces- this is unfair as digital artists will not necessarily have this problem. But please try your hardest to give your entry the best light and as much clarity as you can. Quality will take into account small mistakes such as bleeding colour (if any) or very obvious mistakes in lineart, etc. Loose lines in 'pencil- style' sketches are fine but try and refine your picture as much as you can!

Star! Skill: This is more a test of how hard you have tried. Beginners and professionals may be competing against each other but ability is not necessarily an important factor. Try your hardest with your chosen materials and it will show.

Star! Relation to theme: Is your entry relevant to the given theme? You are welcome to provide a small description of a few sentences next to your piece if you feel it needs explaining, but it shouldn't have to be too long.
